2008 Edition of the AtLex now available

Atlex 2008The 2008 edition of the AtLex, the official map guide to Lexington-Fayette County, has been completed and is available to the public at a cost of $25. The AtLex was developed to provide a comprehensive resource of geographic data in a convenient, portable, and durable product.

The 2008 AtLex is a full-color, spiral-bound atlas with over 200 pages of information, including:

  • a 100-page base map showing all Fayette County, public schools, libraries, hospitals, parks, post offices, streams, fire hydrants and railroads. Sample (PDF)
  • over 30 specialty maps detailing downtown, points of interest, historic districts, snow removal routes, waste management collection, McConnell Springs and Raven Run, KY River access points, Royal Springs wellhead protection area, census tracts, police sectors and beats, and other geographic information.   • An extensive index listing each street name with its corresponding address range, zip code, census tract number, and council district. Sample (PDF)


2008 AtLex improved features:

  • over 250 newly platted or added streets since the 2004 publication
  • updated downtown map
  • detailed Kentucky Horse Park map
  • enhanced McConnell Springs and Raven Run maps


To get more information about the AtLex, you can call 859-258-3386. You may purchase a copy on the fifth floor of the Phoenix Building at 101 East Vine Street.

To receive a copy through the mail, please send a check for $25, plus shipping and handling costs of $5.50 per book, to GIS c/o AtLex, Division of Computer Services, 200 East Main Street, Lexington, Ky. 40507. For mail order requests, include phone and address contact information.

If you wish to purchase the AtLex in bulk, there is a 10 percent discount for orders of 50 or more.

Note: All LFUCG employees that need a copy of the AtLex are eligible to receive one copy with permission from their director. Please contact your director for these orders as your director will be able to identify the appropriate contact for your request.
